Privacy policy
Effective October 21, 2026
This page explains what personal information our website handles, why, who else sees it, how long it is kept, and what you can ask of us.
Apart from inKind’s offer (below), which sets its own cookies, the site sets no cookies for advertising or analytics.

Visiting this site
Why: To show you this site and keep it running and secure, our hosting provider processes technical data about every request.
Why we may: We need it to run the site and protect it from abuse. Nobody can be asked first: it happens as the page is requested.
What:
- The IP address of the device you visit from.
- Your browser and operating system.
- The date and time of the request and the page requested.
Who else sees it:
- Vercel Inc., the hosting provider whose servers run this site.
How long: Vercel keeps server logs for its short operational window and then deletes them. We don’t store them ourselves.
Visit statistics
Why: To see which pages are visited and how fast they load, so we can make the site better. We only ever see totals, never an individual visitor.
Why we may: Understanding how the site is used and keeping it fast, without cookies and without identifying anyone.
What:
- The page you visit, the page you came from, and when.
- Your browser, operating system, type of device and connection speed.
- Your approximate location, country and city, worked out from the request.
- How quickly the page loaded on your device.
- A temporary identifier calculated from the request, never stored on your device and discarded after 24 hours.
Who else sees it:
- Vercel Inc., the hosting provider, which also compiles the statistics.
How long: The temporary identifier is discarded after 24 hours; Vercel keeps only totals for its retention period. We don’t store the data ourselves.
The check that you’re a person
Why: The Sunset List form is protected against automated sign-ups, so the list holds only addresses people gave us themselves.
Why we may: We need it to keep the list free of addresses nobody gave us. It runs only once you start using the form.
What:
- Technical details about your browser that show a person is using the form, which Cloudflare reads. We don’t store them.
Who else sees it:
- Cloudflare, Inc., which runs the check.
How long: We keep nothing from the check; Cloudflare handles retention on its side.
Error reports
Why: When something breaks on our server, a technical report is sent to us so we can fix it before you have to tell us.
Why we may: Keeping the site working, and finding faults that would otherwise go unnoticed.
What:
- A technical description of the error and where in the code it happened.
- The address of the page where it happened.
- Occasionally, details of the request that failed.
Who else sees it:
- Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry), the error-tracking service that receives the report.
How long: Sentry keeps reports for its retention period and then deletes them. We don’t store them ourselves.
inKind’s offer
Why: We work with inKind, which runs our rewards and house-account offers. Its script on this site may show you an offer and a button, remember whether you have seen it, and measure how often it is seen and used.
Why we may: Offering our guests inKind’s rewards. Signing up for the offer is your choice: nothing you type reaches inKind unless you send it.
What:
- Cookies inKind sets in your browser, and an identifier for your device calculated from your browser’s details, such as its type, language, screen and time zone.
- Whether the offer was shown to you, and what you clicked.
- If you sign up for the offer: the email address and phone number you enter.
Who else sees it:
- inKind, Inc., which runs the offer. What it does with your information is in its privacy policy at inkind.com/privacy.
How long: inKind keeps it as its privacy policy says; we don’t store it ourselves.
What you can ask of us
Whatever state or country you live in, you can ask us to:
- Tell you whether we hold personal information about you, and give you a copy.

- Delete it.
- Stop using it for a while, for example while we check a correction.
- Give it to you in a format a computer can read.
- Stop using it for a purpose you object to.
- Withdraw any permission you have given us, at any time; that does not undo what we did before.
Write to the email address above. We answer within 30 days, and we never charge for it.
